People who are most at risk for skin cancer are those individuals who have fair skin and lightly colored eyes, have a personal or family history of skin cancer or those who have a history of numerous sunburns. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in humans. The three main types of skin cancer are basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma.
Non-melanoma skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma) are the most common. These lesions are often red, scaly or waxy-looking and can be painful, bleed and increase in size. Some small or early basal or squamous cell carcinomas will be asymptomatic. Early detection and treatment is of utmost importance
